Door to Door Organics.

Recently, I was given a “Bitty Local Farm Box” from Door to Door Organics and I was excited to try it.  I especially appreciate the fact that all the food grown are from organic farms.  Granted, I get my own CSA share here in Colorado Springs, but I’m always willing to share extra produce with friends.  Anyway, the Bitty box arrived and I wasn’t sure what to expect when I opened it.  How did everything survive the trip?

I was more than pleasantly surprised when everything in the box looked fresh and delicious, good packaging and an ice pack played in roll in that.  In this particular box, I received 1 cucumber, some green beans, cherry tomatoes, 2 Japanese eggplant, 1 bunch of kale, 1 head of leaf lettuce, some shallots, and a head of pak choi.

I was eyeballing the cherry tomatoes first and after a quick wash, I devoured them.  Then later I decided to make a quick and simple curry with the Japanese eggplant, shallots, and green beans.  I really should have taken more photos of what I prepared with everything, but I guarantee you it was all delicious!

I’m a big fan of pak choi, so I was delighted to see some in the Bitty Box.  I chopped and sautéed that with some shallots and a little sesame oil.  Everything was grown at organic farms around Boulder County. What I really like about Door to Door Organics is that if someone really doesn’t have the time to go to their farmers’ market, this is a really great option to get tasty organic food.  The box is delivered right to your door and all you have to do is enjoy everything!

There’s so much good information on their website;  the about section is where you can figure out which size box is best for you and delivery areas, there’s a blog, you can learn more about each  farm, and they also have a Kitchen section to help you plan menus.  You can also customize your box to add non-Colorado grown fruits and vegetables -which are all organic as well.  Oh and there’s a shop section where you can get baked goods, juice, nut butters, and more!

Thanks so much to Door to Door Organics for the Bitty Box! I thoroughly enjoyed everything.  If you would like to try a box, Door to Door Organics is offering Edible Front Range readers a 40% discount for a Bitty Produce Box! Just type in the discount code “ediblefrontrange” (no quotations) and you’re on your way to enjoy fresh, organic food!

  1. Love it! We definitely need more fresh veggies in our fridge. We just haven’t had the time to get to the grocery store though, so getting a weekly delivery of produce makes perfect sense. 40% too? Sign me up!
