More companies are aiming to think locally and act globally. Denver based Teatulia Organic Single Garden Teas is no exception.
“From its inception, Teatulia has been eager to engage with the community in a mutually beneficial manner,” Teatulia’s Co-Founder and President Dr. Kazi Anis Ahmed, says. Teatulia established a cooperative in Northern Bangladesh that has simultaneously revitalized the environment and enriched the community with developmental social programs.
This endeavor has revitalized the entire ecosystem of Northern Bangladesh. Animals and plants not seen in decades are appearing again. Plus, revolutionary education, health, and cattle-lending programs have positively changed the lives of over a thousand Bangladeshi men, women and children. Sustainability is the foundation on which Teatulia lies, not stopping with the community and environment from which the organic tea hails.
All Teatulia’s teas are organic, and are the only teas from Bangladesh that are USDA certified. The garden grows a variety of organic teas, including green tea, black tea, white tea and herbal infusion blends. They all come from a single tea garden so you know exactly where the tea came from and can be assured that it is some of the freshest tea on the market. Teatulia can also boast the most environmentally friendly packaging with its compostable canisters, biodegradable silken pyramid tea bags, water-based inks and labels made from recycled paper. Such pioneering facets have broadened Teatulia’s endeavors that much further.
On March 15, 2012 Tea Bar by Teatulia opened its doors for business – a venture that co-founder and CEO of Teatulia, Linda Appel Lipsius, worked feverishly to bring to fruition. Nestled in the Lower Highlands of Denver, Colorado, LoHi, it is located in the same building as Green Garage on the corner of 29th and Zuni.
The Tea Bar features 18 different top-quality, whole leaf teas from all over the world as well as artisan pour-over coffee and delicious sweet and savory food from locally produced sources. The menu includes delectable sandwiches, salads, cheese plates, scones, muffins as well as vegetarian, gluten-free and child-friendly meals.
A progressive community hub in the Denver Highlands neighborhood with free Wi-Fi, Tea Bar is already becoming a hot spot for locals of all lifestyles. Tea Bar Manager Jana Everett says, “We are trying to create a friendly environment where tea can be more accessible to the community. It’s a place for connecting and the space is so versatile. We’re already feeling tremendous support from the locals and getting requests to host art showings, fundraisers and private events here.”
Tea Bar welcomes all to stop by and enjoy a refreshing tea soda or purchase a Teatulia Lemongrass Herbal Infusion canister. Teatulia teas can also be purchased online and at select retailers nationwide. All sales of Teatulia Organic Teas contribute to the mission, so come be a part of it. Cheers!
